SCHLESINGER, 85, of
Boynton Beach, Fla.,
died Aug. 14, 2010.
She is survived by
her beloved husband,
Bernie Schlesinger;
daughter and son-
Schlesinger
in-law, Liz and Bill
LaKritz of Commerce;
grandchildren, Gaven
(Julie) LaKritz and Elyse
(Chad) Weinbaum;
great-grandchildren,
Emily and Ilana; many
other family members
and friends.
Interment at the Hebrew Memorial
Park Cemetery in Mt. Clemens.

SARAH SHEMTOV, 74, Brooklyn, N.Y,
died Aug. 17, 2010. After battling sickness
for several months, she passed peacefully
on 7 Elul 5770.
She will live in her family's and the
community's memories as a loving
mother and wife, a Crown Heights, N.Y.,
community activist and a devoted Chasid
who was deeply passionate about the late
Rebbe's teachings.
She was active in supporting the work
of her children and grandchildren who
are Chabad emissaries around the globe.
Her son Rabbi Levi Shemtov's work
with children with special needs was
very dear to her, and she made sure to be
personally present at his side for every
major milestone and celebration at the
Friendship Circle.
"My mother was an extremely selfless,
giving woman; and I hope we can all
learn from her by incorporating those
principals in our lives:' said Rabbi Levi
Shemtov. "Personally, I will remember
her by rededicating myself to my work at
Friendship Circle that was so dear to her.
Additionally, I will honor her by estab-
lishing a memorial fund that will benefit
Jewish education for young girls.
"My mother was the first student of the
first Jewish school for girls in the United
States when it was founded in New York in
1942. This will further her legacy of Jewish
education, especially for Jewish girls!"
Mrs. Shemtov is survived by her
sons, Rabbi Levi (Bassie) Shemtov of
West Bloomfield, Rabbi Yossie (Chanie)
Shemtov, director of Chabad in Tucson,
Ariz., Kasriel (Chana) Shemtov of
Crown Heights; daughters, Feige (Rabbi
Sholom) Duchman of Crown Heights,
Bassie (Rabbi Chaim) Treitel of Montreal;
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was the wife of the late Rabbi
Mendel Shemtov.
Interment was at the Old Montefoire
Cemetery in New York City. Contributions
may be made to charity of one's choice.
MARY JO WOLFE, 68,
of West Bloomfield,
died Aug. 17, 2010.
She is survived by
her sons and daugh-
ters-in-law, Jordan and
Winci Wolfe, Matthew
and Aimee Wolfe;
Wolfe
granddaughter, Romy
Wolfe; brother and sister-in-law, Ira and
Kay Harris of Huntington Woods; sister
and brother-in-law, Judith and Robert
Rubin of Huntington Woods.
Mrs. Wolfe was the beloved wife of the
late Dr. Robert R. Wolfe; devoted daugh-
ter of the late Herbert and the late Cecilia
Harris.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
