Beit Midrash To
Explore Holidays

Lifelong Jewish learners are
invited to a Shabbat morning in
a traditional beit midrash (study
hall) format at Congregation Beth
Ahm, 5075 W. Maple Road, West
Bloomfield, on Saturday, Aug. 21.
Rabbi Steven Rubenstein will lead
the beit midrash from 10:30 to
11:15 a.m.
Services will
begin at 9 a.m.
Following the
Torah reading,
the congregation
will move from
the main sanctu-
ary into Nusbaum
".
Hall
for the
Rabbi
45-minute
beit
Rubenstein
midrash, where
they will read
and discuss Jewish texts touching
on themes of the upcoming Days
of Awe.
Services will resume with musaf
at 11:15 a.m., followed by kiddush
and Beth Ahm's weekly Shabbat
Song Circle. All are welcome.

BBQ At Beth Ahm

Welcome Shabbat at Congregation
Beth Ahm in West Bloomfield 6
p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, with a musi-
cal Kabbalat Shabbat service
followed by a kosher barbecue
supper. Services will be led by Beth
Ahm's High Holiday Music Team:
Professor Howard Lupovitch on
vocals and guitar and Ronn Nadis
and daughters Emily and Rebecca
on vocals.
Prepaid reservations are required
for dinner. Cost for dinner is $18
for adults and $5 for ages 4-13.
Kids age 3 and younger are free.
