Greenberg's Restaurant in Cabo St. Lucas is a Mexican destination.

The shimmering waves of
soft blue waters, striking sandy
beaches and beautiful weather had cast
their wondrous lures to make him no
more just a visitor but one who never went
back home.
Former Detroiter
David Greenberg, had
gone to Cabo St. Lucas,
Mexico, on the south-
ernmost tip of Baja
California, to think
about whether or not
he should attend law
school and made the
David Greenberg
decision to stay.
His Senor
Greenberg's
Mexitessen became a legend after open-
ing in 1997, was name-changed to Senor
Greenberg's, and now just Greenberg's
Restaurant with concentration on full-scale
contemporary American and Mexican cui-
sine plus an extensive list of Spanish tapas
and choice wines ... Still corned beef, pas-
trami, Reuben, club sandwiches, etc., but
for the most part Greenberg's is completely
changed.
Signature dishes now include Ahi
Tartare and a pizza in which Greenberg's
makes its own flatbread, tops it with
sprinkled parmesan cheese and folks
build their own pie from choices of home-
made tomato concasse, blended goat
cheese and cream cheese, roasted garlic
and portobello mushroom ... Also new
dining creations that no other restaurant I
know of has including bleu jalapeno mac-
aroni and cheese ... Fresh fish is locally
caught in Cabo St. Lucas.
David's Senor Greenberg's grew to

three restaurants, but today,
Greenberg's is solely at one
location ... in Puerto Paraiso
Mall of downtown Cabo on
the Marina ... within walking
distance from the port at which
cruise ships dock.
The restaurant is open 7 days
8 a.m.-midnight for breakfast,
lunch and dinner ... So if you
are in Cabo St. Lucas while
cruising the Caribbean, say hello
to David and join the many who
have returned home with nothing but

Popular Benjie Pearlman, one-time owner
of Benjie's Fish and Seafood restaurant on
Orchard Lake Road, Sylvan Lake, is still in
the Detroit area.
In the 1950s, Benjie taught ballroom
dancing, mambo, cha-cha, etc., at Miami
Beach, Fla., hotels ... In the 1960s and
'70s, he taught culinary art at Detroit and
Royal Oak schools and opened his Benjie
Palmer Dance Studios, the first of four,
on Seven Mile Road and Schaefer, Detroit
Benjie's Fish and Seafood had more
than 20 fish and seafood items in a well-
received menu.
