ANITA L MECHANIC, died Aug. 1, 2010,
died surrounded by her loving children
and grandchildren in Worcester, Mass.
She was born on Feb. 11, 1923, in
Welland, Ontario. She lived a full and tra-
ditional life raising her five children. Her
unique sense of humor, native intelligence
and humanistic spirit made her a warm
and caring wife, mother, grandmother,
neighbor and friend. She lives on for all
who knew her.
Mrs. Mechanic is survived by her
children, Lynn Mechanic, an artist in
San Francisco; Don Mechanic, president
of Don Mechanic Enterprises, a Dallas,
Texas-based arts and crafts manufacturer;
Bill (with wife Carol) Mechanic, former
CEO of 20th Century Fox and currently an
independent producer; Dr. Susan Hyman,
a leading audiologist based in Beaumont,
Texas; and Mark Mechanic, J.D., president
of Blue Sky Capital Paitners LLC, a com-
puter sales company, based in Worcester,
Mass.; loving grandchildren, Alexandra
Mechanic , Zak and Max Mechanic , Erin
Mechanic, and Daniel and Ari Hyman. She
was the wife for 47 years of the late Jack
Mechanic.

Services at Adat Shalom Cemetery
in Livonia. Contributions may be made
to the National Lymphedema Network
(www.lymphneLorg). Arrangements by
Hebrew Memorial Chapel.

DR. SEYMOUR MIRKES, 67, of
Farmington Hills, died July 27, 2010.
He is survived by his son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Scott and Michelle Mirkes of
Farmington Hills; daughters and sons-
in-law, Deborah and Steven Marchand of
South Lyon, Laura and Darrell Anderson
of Farmington Hills, grandchildren
Charles, Jack, Nicholas, Sydney, Zachary,
Simon; many other loving family mem-
bers and friends..
Mr. Mirkes was the beloved husband of
the late Elaine Mirkes.
Interment at the Beth El Memorial
Park Cemetery in Livonia. Contributions
may be made to the American Diabetes
Association. Arrangements by Dorfman
Chapel.

THELMA "TIBY" ROTTMAN, of West
Bloomfield, died July 26, 2010.

Mrs. Rottman was very active in the
Jewish communities of both Scranton
and Orlando, Fla., where she had resided
for 25 years prior to moving to West
Bloomfield three years ago.
She is survived by her beloved hus-
band, Eugene Rottman; devoted sons and
daughters-in-law, Dr. Michael and Anne
Rottman of West Bloomfield, Kenny and
Betsy Rottman of Sanibel Island, Fla.;
grandchildren, Geoffrey and Brandon
Rottman.
