She graduated from the University of Michigan in 1934 with a BA Shaberman degree in journal- ism and worked as a reporter for the Jewish News. She returned to school and earned an MSW in 1962 from Wayne State University and worked for 15 years as a social worker at the Methodist Children's Home.
