Family bike ride and walk to benefit Kids Kicking Cancer.
C
ycle or walk for Kids Kicking
Cancer on Sunday, July 18, at
Waterford Hills Raceway, rain
or shine.
"We wanted to create a family-friend-
ly event to help bring awareness to this
very deserving and important organi-
zation," said Andy Roisman of Beverly
Hills, event co-chair with Jodi Weinfeld
and Stacey Bean, both of Farmington
Hills. "This way, even the kids can feel
like they are contributing to help other
children who are sick."
Competitive riders will ride from
9-10 a.m. A ride and walk for families
runs 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The track is an
enclosed blacktop area surrounded by
grass and trees.
Also at 10 a.m., family events begin
with a martial arts demonstration from
Kids Kicking Cancer students. Events
include Faces in the Air face painting,
music by Electric Entertainment, an
Independence Township fire truck, give-
aways and crafts.
All proceeds will benefit Kids Kicking
Cancer (www.powerpeacepurpose.org).
Cost: $20 donation for adults 16 and
older; $10 donation for children 5 and
up; no charge for riders younger than 5.
