United States in 1967. He attended the Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland and, at the time of his diagnosis in 2005, was the chief technology officer for Motorola and CSC in Chicago, Ill. He resided in Barrington, Ill., but recently purchased a condo in Bloomfield Hills to be near his new granddaughter. His extraordinarily kind and generous spirit lives on through his countless con- tributions; he was a truly exceptional man. Mr. Guttmann is survived by his high school sweetheart, best friend and wife of 40 years, Renee Bernat Guttmann, now of Bloomfield Hills. He was the beloved and doting father of his daughter, Nicole Guttmann Schwartz; adored son-in-law is Gregory Schwartz; he was proud "Papa" to his 3-month-old granddaughter, Alexandra Schwartz of Birmingham.
