LEONARD JACK
ABLECOP, 76, of
Huntington Woods,
died June 14, 2010.
He was a building
contractor, special-
izing in residential
adapting for the
Ablecop
handicapped.
Mr. Ablecop is survived by his wife,
Susan Karabelnick; daughters and
son-in-law, Cheryl and Bud Pope of
Farmington, Renee Ablecop of Alaska;
grandchildren, Marlee Pope, David
and Daniel Ablecop; brother and sis-
ter-in-law, Saul and Vivian Ablecop;
sister, Ethel Elkind; brother-in-law,
Milton Shulman; cousins and close
friends.
He was the beloved son of the late
Minnie and the late Charles Ablecop;
cherished brother of the late Bernice
Shulman, the late George Ablecop and
the late Arnold Ablecop; loving broth-
er-in-law of the late Ben Elkind; loving
companion of the late Sadie I, Sadie II,
Trinka, Trax and Tasha.

GERALD BLOOM, 87, of Oak Park,
died June 15, 2010.
He served in the United States
Army for three years as a bugler and
a prison guard. He worked for the U.S.
Postal Service and United Hebrew
Schools throughout his career. He was
a lifetime member of the Jewish War
Veterans and B'nai B'rith.
Mr. Bloom is survived by his
beloved wife of 62 years, Frances; chil-
dren, Barbara and Joel Letzer, Hazel
and Armin Fischer, Barry and Mary
Bloom and Pam and Bob Horner; sib-
lings, Lillian Bernstein, Mitchell and
Hilda Bloom, Doris Epstein, Anita and
Lou Dorfman; eight grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren.
