BESSIE SHERBIN
COLUMBUS, 104, of
Birmingham, died
June 14, 2010.
For over 30 years,
she worked in the col-
lections department
of Standard Accident
Columbus
Insurance Co..
Mrs. Columbus is survived by her
son, Dr. Michael Sherbin of Bloomfield
Hills; grandchildren, Julie and Michael
Sher, and their children, Lucy, Rose and
Mollie Sher; niece, Ellen Porvin, and her
children, Stephen Porvin, Daniel Porvin
and Joanna Porvin Benjamin's children,
Tobie and John Orozco, Susie and Jeff
Samuels, Sol and Linda Columbus, and
their children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Columbus was the beloved wife
of the late Norman Sherbin and the late
Benjamin Columbus; loving sister of
the late Ed Karlin, the late Ben Karlin,
the late Rose Karlin and the late Minnie
Karlin Steinberg.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

DAVID H. DISKIN, 76, of Oak Park,

He is survived by his daughter,

Richard Weston and Richard's children,
Rebecca, Karen and Leah.
Mr. Diskin was the beloved husband
of the late Denise Weston Diskin; broth-
er of the late Gerald Diskin and the late
Phyllis Stroh.
Interment at the Adat Shalom
Memorial Park Cemetery in Livonia.

MILTON GASTWIRTH, 91, of Coconut
Creek, Fla., died June 10, 2010.
He is survived by his sons and daugh-
ters-in-Iaw, Dr. Glenn and Joy Gastwirth
of Potomac, Md., Dr. Craig and Cheryl
Gastwirth of West Bloomfield, Dr. Bart
and Gwen Gastwirth of Buffalo Grove,
Ill.; grandchildren, Sara Gastwirth,
Bradley and Elyse Gastwirth, Dr. Jason
and Stacy Trager, Andrew Gastwirth,
Seth and Jodie Gastwirth and Lee and
Jenny Doren; great-grandchildren, Tali
Gastwirth and Matthew Trager; brother
and sister-in-law, Myron and Anita
Gastwirth of Liberty, N.Y. He is also
survived by his loving partner, Rosalyn
Fried, and leaves behind many family
members and friends.
Mr. Gastwirth was the devoted hus-
band of the late Janette Gastwirth.

HERBERT
GOLDSTEIN, 86, of
Farmington Hills, died
June 15, 2010.
He was a generous
man with a heart of
gold who never met
someone who wasn't a
Goldstein
friend. He was a proud
and loving husband, father, grandfather,
and great-grandfather.
Mr. Goldstein served in the Navy
during World War II. He was the trea-
surer of the Commander Support
Control Units and organized the troop's
reunions. He became an accountant and
partner in the firm Monast & Goldstein
and practiced for over 60 years.
Mr. Goldstein served his community
by his strong involvement in the Hebrew
Free Loan Association, over 50 years
commitment to the Jewish Federation, a
long-term member of the Accountant's
Guild and as an active member of
Temple Beth EI.
He is survived by his beloved wife
of 65 years, Adele Goldstein; son and
daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Susan
Goldstein of Dallas, Texas; daughters,
Ronna Zelickman of Oak Park, Shelly
Goldstein of Dallas; brother and sister-
in-law, Ronald and Charlotte Goldstein
