Beth Ahm Lunchtime Study
For Four Shabbats In July
Torah Lishma (Jewish study for its
own sake) will be held this summer
at Congregation Beth Ahm in West
Bloomfield. It is a four-part Shabbat
lunch-and-learn series in July with
Rabbi Steven Rubenstein titled "Back to
the Sources."
The series will take place from 12:30
to 2 p.m., following Shabbat morning
services and a light Kiddush lunch on
July 3, 10, 17 and 24.
The series will explore the world of
rabbinic text, including Torah commen-
taries, Talmud, Midrash and Aggadah

(rabbinic lore and legends).
The four sessions are open to the
community at no charge. Study materi-
als will be provided in English transla-
tion as well as in the original Hebrew or
Aramaic. No previous Jewish text study
experience is required.
To help plan for food and seating and
ensure enough copies of study materi-
als for "Back to the Sources:' advance
registration is requested. However,
walk-ins will be accommodated.
