She was the youngest and last sur- viving sister of the six children born to Helen and Sam Finkel. Born in Poland, Mrs. Karch immigrated to America with her sisters, brother and mother to join their father, who had left Poland several years earlier. She met Saul at a cottage on Sylvan Lake, where his parents rented rooms to her family. They married in 1939 and began their life together, a long life filled with many dear friends, their children and a close circle of family, all living on the same street in Detroit. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Even in the last days of her life she was able to find laughter and com- fort. She was blessed with eight beau- tiful and happy great-grandchildren, who brought a huge amount of joy into her life; in return she showered her love upon them all. Mrs. Karch was the dearest and beloved mother of Dr. Peter and Lillian and Nina and Jerry Mann; grandmother to David Maim, Cathy and Chuck Wright, Dr. Daniel and Tonya Mann, Dr. Michael and Kim Karch, Laura and Chris Capitelli and Dr. Robert and Orchid Karch; great- grandmother of Benjamin, Leah and Eric Wright, Kiley and Morgan Mann, Mia, Dane and Olivia Karch.
