JCRC lauds
activists.

he Jewish Community
Relations Council of
Metropolitan Detroit has
announced its slate of officers and
candidates to fill board of directors'
seats.
The election
will be held at
JCRC's annual
meeting at 7 p.m.
Tuesday, June 22,
at Congregation
Beth Ahm in West
Bloomfield.
Douglas
JCRC's annual
Salzenstein
meeting will fea-
ture Orli Gil, consul general of Israel
to the midwest. During the program,
JCRC will present Douglas Salzenstein
with the Young Activist Award and
pay tribute to the Michigan Darfur
Coalition with JCRC's first Partner in
Activism Award.
Richard Nodel has been nomi-
nated to serve a second year as
JCRC president. Vice presidential
candidates are Nancy Welber Barr,
Jodi Goodman, Sharon Lipton and
Judy Rosenberg. Jeanne Maxbauer
is nominated as secretary and
Linda Finkel as treasurer.
Nominees slated for three-year
terms on the board of directors are
Sue Birnholz, Ethan Davidson, Otto
Dube, Dr. Conrad L. Giles, Danielle
Glickfield, Judge Barry Grant,
Micki Grossman, Jeff Jenks, Rene
Lichtman, Milton Neuman and
Susie Schechter.
Jeffrey Appel, Kim Gladstone and
Sharona Shapiro have been nomi-
nated to two-year terms on the board
of directors. Jim Rossenfeld has been
nominated to a one-year term.
Todd Mendel, JCRC immedi-
ate past president, served as chair
of the JCRC nominating com-
mittee. Additional committee
members were Jeff Aronoff, Keri
Guten Cohen, Judi Schram, Sandy
Schwartz, Rabbi Levi Shemtov and
Howard I. Wallach.
