FLORENCE KIVANOSKI, 90, for- merly of Flint, died May 19, 2010, at the Fountains in Southfield. Mrs. Kivanoski was born June 18, 1919, in Detroit, the daughter of Max and Ida (Nelson) Resnick. She was married to Jake Kivanoski on March 1, 1959, in Detroit; he pre- ceded her in death Jan. 23, 1998. Mrs. Kivanoski was secretary for UAW Local 599 retiring in 1982. She had resided in Flint since 1960 and was an active member of the Flint Jewish Community. She is survived by her niece, Judith Jacobson of West Bloomfield; nephew, Ed and wife Cathy Witkow of Sterling Heights; their three sons and families. Her work is housed in the Joan Lincoln Private Collection, the Arm and Hammer Museum of Art Private Collection, Doc Severinson Private Collection and several other prestigious private collections. She taught at the Banff fine arts center in Alberta, Canada. She won many awards for her work, most notably, Cheongju International Craft Competition and won place- ment in the Crafts National 35 and NCECA catalogs. She was active in Hillel at Arizona State University and served on its board of directors. Ms. Lee is survived by her hus- band, Dr. Marc Y. Wasserman; her parents, Dr. Marc and Lori Lee; sisters, Michele (David) Corgis and Erica (Alex) Marks; niece, Ella Marks; nephew, Benjamin Marks; grandmother, Helen Leib.
