ose Stone Siegel, 88, for-
merly of Detroit, died April
30, 2010, in St. Louis, Mo.,
her home since 1946 after she and
her husband, Dan, left Ft. Belvoir,
Va., where he was stationed in the
Army. They had met at a University
of Michigan football
game in Ann Arbor.
While raising three
children in St. Louis,
Dan's hometown,
Mrs. Siegel became
an avid golfer begin-
ning in 1956. She
played competitive
amateur golf for
more than 50 years
Rose Siegel
while affiliated
with the Missouri
Women's Golf Association. In 2007,
she was honored for her 50 years of
active play in the St. Louis district
golf; an annual tournament was
named for her.
Mrs. Siegel was involved with
many community and Jewish orga-
nizations in St. Louis, including the
National Council of Jewish Women,
Hadassah and B'nai B'rith. She was
a longtime member of Congregation
Shaare Emeth.
Mrs. Siegel was one of 10 children
of Anna and Ben Stone of Detroit.
Mrs. Siegel is survived by her son,

Dr. Douglas Siegel (Bettina Steller) of
Wayland, Mass.; daughter and son-
in-law, Patti and Dr. Bruce Garber;
daughter-in-law, Faye Siegel, all of
St. Louis; grandchildren, Eric, Lara,
Leslie, Marc and Ben; sister, Ruth
Hack of Southfield; brother and
sister-in-law, William
and Ceci Stone of West
Bloomfield; sisters-in-law,
Rosalyn Stone of Bingham
Farms and Ileane Stone
of Walled Lake and Bert
Siegel and Ellen Wallach,
both of St. Louis.
Mrs. Siegel was the
beloved wife of the late
Dan Siegel; loving mother
of the late Robert Siegel;
the dear sister and sis-
ter-in-law of the late Dorothy and
the late Joseph Sklar, the late Ralph
Stone, the late Margaret and the late
Harold Getz, the late Ethel and the
late Irving Gordon, the late Sylvia
Ellman, the late Ted Stone; dear sis-
ter-in-law of the late Norman Hack,
the late Stanley Siegel and the late
Elliott Wallach.

West Bloomfield, died May 2, 2010.
She is survived by her daugh-
ters and sons-in-law, Roberta
Hillenberg-Gang and Dr. David
Gang of Long Meadow, Mass., Davee
Hillenberg and Don Cucco of West
Bloomfield; sons and daughters-in-
law, Dr. Bruce and Cindy Hillenberg
of Farmington Hills, Steven and
Terri Hillenberg of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren, Alex, Jonathon and
Nicholas Gang, Lindsay and Jamie
Hillenberg, Scott (Alison) Weinstein,
Mikki (Ivan) Frank, Jakob, Shayna
and Annie Hillenberg; great-grand-
children, Zachary, Tessa, Mia, Ellie
and Charlie.
Interment at the Clover Hill
Park Cemetery in Birmingham.
