West Bloomfield cite Entrepreneur Of Year.

T

he Greater West Bloomfield
Chamber of Commerce will
honor West Bloomfield native
Stacy Goldberg, a registered
nurse committed to health, fitness and
entrepreneurship.
She will be recognized as 2010 Young
Entrepreneur of the
Year at the annual
Chamber Awards
Dinner at 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday, May 18, at
Shenandoah Banquet
Center in West
Bloomfield.
The founder of
Stacy

Goldberg
businesses in the last
three years, Goldberg, through her com-
panies, is dedicated to promoting health-
ier lifestyles. Both A Weigh of Life and
What's In Your Cart? focus on making
healthy choices when grocery shopping
and on making lifestyle changes day-to-
day that lead to living a healthier life.

What's In Your Cart? additionally
offers nutrition education in classrooms
and is exclusively part of Plum Market's
"Healthy Choices" program in West
Bloomfield, Bloomfield Township and Ann
Arbor.
Goldberg also provides nutrition edu-
cation to nonprofits in the area, including
the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit and the Alzheimer's Association.
"Stacy's commitment to improving
health in our community coupled with her
entrepreneurial spirit and energy made
her an exceptional choice," said Steven
Tapper, event committee chair. "She is an
impressive individual who truly is looking
to make a difference. Our committee was
very impressed."
Themed, "The Future is Ours
— Moving Forward 2010," this year's
West Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce
Awards Dinner also will honor Johnny
Karmo from Market Square as Business

Breadsmith Benefits Needy

The David B. Hermelin ORT Resource
Center will hold "Mini Microsoft" six-week
classes this summer. Three sessions will
provide education on technology and
computer skills for adults interested in
refreshing or improving computer skills.
Session one ($118) of Mini Microsoft
will run for six weeks, from June 1-July 6
on Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m.
Session two ($118) will run for six
weeks, from July 1-Aug. 5 on Thursdays,
6:30 p.m.-9 p.m. The course will cover
Microsoft Excel and the setup of spread-
sheets and worksheets, creation of
charts, graphs and formulas.
Session three ($60) will run for three
weeks, from July 20-Aug. 3 on Tuesdays,
from 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m. It will cover the
Microsoft Powerpoint files, including use
of music, video and animation.

On Wednesday, May 19, Breadsmith of
Bloomfield Hills, 3592 W. Maple, will give
any daily loaf to customers in exchange
for two or more nonperishable food
items, which will go to Hospitality House,
Walled Lake.
"It just makes sense to work with
Hospitality House because we donate
our leftover bread to them," said Kevin
Brand, owner of the Breadsmith of
Bloomfield Hills ((www.breadsmith.com ).
Store patrons will receive free grilled
items from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. while sup-
plies last courtesy of the Franklin Grill
and Tavern of downtown Franklin.
Guests will have the chance to win
a giveaway package that consists of
Breadsmith bread for a year, lunch for
two at the Franklin Grill and Tavern and
various other items.
