Q:

A•

My son has tattoos. Will he be able to be
buried in a Jewish cemetery?

Judaism recognizes a body's intrinsic holiness and forbids its
mutilation in any way (tattoos, piercings, and autopsies).
Nevertheless, the overriding mitzvah of a proper burial must
and will be fulfilled in a Jewish cemetery.

Hebrew Memorial Chapel serves the entire Jewish community by
bringing together our rich traditions with customized, sensitive services.
