In fact, there is some evidence that the mutations are linked to prostate and pancreatic cancer also. Two community organizations, the Cancer Thrivers Network for Jewish Women and FORCE, will aim to provide awareness on the topic at an evening of education, fun and fashion at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 26. The jeans fashion show and wine and cheese reception will be held at the Beverly Prentis Wagner Teen Center in the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield. The public is welcome. The fashion show is courtesy of Rear Ends, West Bloomfield. Models will be women and men who carry the BRCA I & II genetic mutations as well as community genetic counselors. Minimum donation is $5 payable at the door and reservations are request- ed. E-mail cancerthrivers@aol.com or call Patti Nemer, (248) 790-5854. The mission of FORCE (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered) is to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. The Cancer Thrivers Network for Jewish Women's mission is to enrich and empower Jewish women through activities, friendship, resources, education and humor. The network welcomes women who have been diagnosed with any kind of cancer at any time in their lives. ❑
