Mrs. Lakits was a teacher and coun-
selor at Detroit Public Schools.
She is survived by her sisters and
brother-in-law, Helen Schoenberg of
Farmington Hills, Beverly and Bernie
Bushman of Cleveland, Ohio; many lov-
ing nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-
nephews, cousins and friends.
She was the loving daughter of the late
Max and the late Rae Katz.

Life, she was an active member of the
Michigan Democratic Party. She was a
former member of Temple Beth El.
Mrs. Lewin is survived by her husband,
Stanley Lewin; daughters and sons-in-
law, Linda L. Stark of Missouri, Sherry L.
Sinclair and Reinhard Pawlicki of Arizona;
son and daughter-in-law, David A.
Lewin and Barbara Wolfe of Dearborn;
grandchildren, Leonard and Beth Stark,
Danielle and Jeff Gordman, Matthew
Pawlicki-Sinclair and Andrew Pawlicki-
Sinclair; great-grandchildren, Brennan,
Lucy and Jamie Stark, Harper and Zev
Gordman; brother, Milton Berger; sister-

She was the cherished daughter of the
late Abraham and the Bertha Berger; the
beloved wife of her first husband, Leonard
L. Lewis, USNR, who was killed in action
on June 6, 1944, (D-Day) at Omaha Beach,
Normandy; the loving sister of the late
Sylvia Berger, the late Harris Berger and the
late Pearl Padden; the dear sister-in-law of
the late Shirley Berger; the dearest mother-
in-law of the late Walter Stark.
