Cheryl Chodun, longtime reporter at WXYZ-Channel 7, has been honored by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with Chodun the Silver Circle Award, an award given to only six people in Michigan in the broadcast industry each year. The Silver Circle Award stands for excellence and dedication to the broadcast indus- try for more than 25 years. A cer- emony was held at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham on Feb. 21, where Chodun received her award. Dr. Howard B. Schwartz of West Bloomfield has been appointed chief medical offi- cer for Community Care Services for Henry Ford Health System. In addi- tion to his clinical practice at the Southfield medical center, Schwartz will support CCS in pursuing integration strategies and growth opportunities in collaboration with Henry Ford Medical Group, Health Alliance Plan and private practice community physicians. He is a member of the Henry Ford Medical Group and has served on the board of governors. His responsibilities as the service chief for family medicine at Henry Ford of West Bloomfield will continue.
