Sallen says, "From my first day at
Maddin Hauser, I recognized the cor-
porate culture was about commitment
to excellence, client service, hard work
and the well-being of all our employees.
I liked the work atmosphere and the fact
that the attorneys were committed to
having outstanding practices resulting in
achieving favorable outcomes for their
clients. I care very deeply about continu-
ing this ethic that Michael fostered."
According to Maddin, "Steve is con-
fident, charismatic, with the ability to
engage others. A self-starter, his job now
is to be an outstanding leader. He has
been perceived for a long time as a highly
effective person to take on this role. He
is the right choice for our attorneys, our
staff and our clients. I am sure that he will
succeed and that, under his guidance,
the firm's direction will continue to be up
and moving forward with new ideas."
Maddin has shown great foresight in
developing and implementing a succes-
sion plan. He plans to remain active in his
practice and will continue to be a valu-
able asset to the firm and its growth.
Sallen's practice areas are in real estate
law, environmental law and corporate law.
Among his clients are some of Michigan's
most successful manufacturing firms,
real estate developers, general contrac-
tors and commercial real estate brokers.
He also heads up Maddin Hauser's
Environmental Law Practice Group.
Sallen earned his undergraduate
degree from the University of Michigan
and his law degree, cum laude, from
the University of Detroit School of Law.
