Founded by Leonard Bernstein, the Schleswig-Holstein
Festival Orchestra is comprised of the world's finest
musicians under the age of 27, who work with experienced
teachers and outstanding conductors from the Berlin
Philharmonic, the Munich Philharmonic, and other notable
ensembles. For their UMS debut performance they are
joined by the charismatic 27-year--old pianist Lang Lang,
heralded as the "biggest, most exciting keyboard talent
encountered in many years" by The Chicago Tribune.
