rlene and Alan Gildenberg of
West Bloomfield are delighted to
announce the engagement of their
daughter Elyse Lauren Gildenberg to Ryan
Michael Jahnke, son of Betta Singer of West
Bloomfield and Wendy and Keith Jahnke of
Orchard Lake.
Elyse graduated from Michigan State
University in East Lansing with a B.A. in
education. She is a first-grade teacher in
Farmington Public Schools.
Ryan graduated with a B.B.A. from the
University of Michigan. He is a division
manager for Thermo Source, a local energy
cost-reduction company.
Elyse and Ryan met at West Bloomfield High School eight years ago. The
high-school sweethearts will be married July 2010 at the Royal Park Hotel in
Rochester.

Sara Gail to Daniel Aaron, son of Sara and
Louis Brooks, of West Bloomfield.
Sara attended Michigan State University
in East Lansing and has a master's degree in
social work from the University of Michigan.
Dan attended Michigan State University
and served in the Peace Corps in Honduras
from 2006-2008.
The couple currently live in Arlington, Va.,
where Sara works for the U.S. Department of
Agriculture. Dan is a manager at a popular
D.C. restaurant and will begin graduate studies in urban planning this fall.
A June 5 wedding is planned at the Detroit Yacht Club.
