For Gabin Hertz, owner of the Relax the Back franchise in Bloomfield Township, neces- sity is actually the mother of re-invention. Hertz, 39, of Southfield moved to Metro Detroit from his native Hungary with his family when he was 8 years old. After graduating from Yeshiva Beth Yehudah for grade school and Akiva Hebrew Day School for high school, both now in Southfield, he earned a bachelor's degree in corporate finance from Michigan State University and an MBA from Walsh College, Troy. He began working in insurance sales and followed with a successful and lucra- tive career in the mortgage business. He worked his way up to become the regional vice president for a national mortgage company, responsible for a five-state ter- ritory with 50 direct reports.
