Child Nutrition Seder puts
a face on childhood hunger.

ach year in the Haggadah,
we read, "Let all who are
hungry come and eat."
Growing up in this privileged com-
munity, I felt that I might never
know the face of "all who are
hungry."
My wakeup call came in work-
ing with Yad Ezra and the Jewish
Community Relations Council to
plan this year's Child Nutrition
Seder, which took place March 14 at
the kosher food pantry in Berkley.
The 16,000 families Yad Ezra serves
in Metro Detroit on a monthly basis
provided me with a face for hunger
in our community.
