I was at a funeral and you had a door locked
Q going into the chapel area and Kohens stayed
on the other side. Why is this?

A.

A Kohen is a member of the tribe that did services in the Temple.
Although our temple was destroyee4 the holy status of a Kohen remains
I to some degree and they are not permitted to come in contact and defile
themselves with a dead body (except for the seven closest relatives).
