How to Send Letters
We prefer letters relating to JN articles. We reserve the right to edit or reject letters. Letters of
225 words or less are considered first. Longer ones will be subject to trimming. Letter writers
are limited in frequency of publication. Letters must be original and contain the name, address
and title of the writer and a day phone number. Non-electronic copies must be hand signed.
Send letters to the JN: 29200 Northwestern Highway, Suite 110, Southfield, MI 48034; fax (248)
304-8885; e-mail, letters@the jewishnews.com . We prefer e-mail.

Those who love Israel, as we do,
must always speak up when we know
that a government policy is wrong. We
urge everyone to support President
Obama's intentions to end the conflict,
not just to talk about it.
Still hoping for peace in our time.

Here's To Our Designrs
My husband, Mark Sims, and I very
much enjoyed the article about our
bedroom "Romantic Space" (Feb.
18, page 27). We have received many
comments and compliments from
friends and family.
Having only lived in our home for
five years, it is still fairly new and
exciting to us. We are still amazed
at how beautiful it came together as
shown by the bedroom shot in the
paper.
I would like to expand on the
article with the mention of our inte-
rior designers — Arlene Cohen and
Robbie Segel of Innovative Interiors
in West Bloomfield. We hope that
you will make sure they are given the
appropriate credit.
Control Teen Dating
I want to express my appreciation for
the very informative and important
commentary "Confront Teen Dating
Abuse" (March, 4, page 27). Certainly,
the use of texting, tweeting, etc., has
become much more prevalent with
children whom we do not even con-
sider to be adolescents. This has the
effect of influencing their behavior
and judgment.
As the article points out, this
technology can, and does, impact
what parents know about the kind of
relationships their children might be
having.
For the past five years, National
Council of Jewish Women/Greater
Detroit Section has presented our
Teen Dating Abuse Awareness pro-
gram to the Jewish Monday-night
schools, Frankel Jewish Academy in
West Bloomfield and many public
schools in Metro Detroit. There is
no charge and, to date, nearly 4,000
students have participated in the
program.
We have a structured curricu-
lum that focuses on the difference
between healthy and unhealthy rela-
tionships, and provides information
to identify the warning signs of an
abusive relationship.
We are also offering this program
to parent groups.
To schedule a presentation, you can
call (248) 355-9936 or e-mail TDA@
ncjwgds.org .

In Pursuit Of Peace
We, the board members of Ameinu
Detroit, wish to express our anger at
the Knesset's recent provocative rul-
ing to allow construction of 1,600 new
housing units in East Jerusalem.
The whole world is rightly angry at
this blatant attempt by Shas, an ultra-
Orthodox party in the Israeli govern-
ment, to derail or delay the peace pro-
cess by pushing for this construction.
Ameinu Detroit urges Israeli Prime
Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to
speak out publicly against this decree.
First, because it's an insult to the
United States. And second, adding
more housing in that disputed area is
a blow to the integrity of Israel, which
says officially that it wants to negoti-
ate a two-state solution. Netanyahu
must state that the status of Jerusalem
will be part of the negotiations.
"Hope is fading for a future in
which a Jewish, democratic Israel lives
side-by-side in peace and security
with the state of the Palestinian peo-
ple wrote Jeremy Ben-Ami of J Street.
We agree with him and also that
"ending the conflict is a fundamental
American security interest."

Corrections
• "On The Rise" (March 11, page 18)
about U.S. Rep. Sander Levin's ascen-
sion to acting chair of the House Ways
and Means Committee should have
stated that Rep. Levin's wife, Victoria,
died in 2008.
• "Bridging The Distance" (March 11,
page C16) should have stated that
Sheila and Eddie Pont of Chicago have
three children.
