Along with all the other critical arrangements one must make for a
wedding these days, an increasing "must-do" is setting up a wedding Web site.
"We wanted to do a Web site so all of our friends and family could get all the
wedding details before the actual invitation came out," said Erin Lowen of Franklin,
who will be marrying Neil Simmerman on Sept. 4 at Knollwood Country Club, West
Bloomfield. "It is a great way for some of the guests who are part of our parents' lists
to get to know Neil, and I and see how we met and see some of our engagement
pictures."
While it is certainly possible to set up a wedding Web site from scratch, for most
it is an automated affair with personalization options that help even the Internet
newbie — if there are still any — look like a techie. Most companies offer free sites to
start, which provide attractive templates with design, color and feature options, and
then charge a monthly or annual fee for increased options. Costs are nominal, run-
