TV Notes

Special to the Jewish News

The NBC series Who Do You Think
You Are? explores the ancestry
of famous people. The first epi-
sode, which aired on March 5,
and can be seen on the NBC Web
site, featured the family history
of actress Sarah Jessica Parker,
44, whose late father was Jewish.
New episodes air Fridays at 8
p.m. and two upcoming episodes
feature Jewish celebs - on March
19, actress Lisa Kudrow, 46, of
Friends fame and, on March 26,
actor Matthew Broderick, 47,
who is married to Sarah Jessica
Parker (Broderick's late mother
was Jewish). Other celebs profiled
include Susan Sarandon, Brooke
Shields, Spike Lee, and former
football star Emmitt Smith. On
Feb. 27, Jason
Mesnick, the
former The
Bachelor TV
series star, wed
Molly Malaney,
who was the run-
ner-up on the
Jason Mesnick 2008 installment
of The Bachelor.
Mesnick created quite a stir when
he proposed to another woman,
but then dumped her in favor of
Malaney (who isn't Jewish). The
secular wedding was shown on
ABC earlier this week and it can
be viewed on the ABC Web site.
Highlights of Mesnick's Bachelor
career will be included in another
ABC Bachelor special airing this
Monday, March 15, at 8 p.m. ❑
