Spirituality AROUND TOWN The Whole Megillah Shaarey Zedek hosts Purim Extravaganza. Kyra Alpiner, 12, of Birmingham and Madeline Kaufman, 11, of West Bloomfield E verything you'd expect to find at a Purim party and more was on hand Feb. 27 at Congregation Shaarey Zedek Southfield during a jam-packed Purim Extravaganza for children and adults. More than 1,000 people attended the event, which included a fam- ily Megillah reading and costume party, carnival games, inflatable bounce houses and obstacle courses, airbrush tattoos, slot car racing, downs, jugglers, video games, food and music. There was also a traditional Megillah reading for grown ups followed by music from The Raven Gallery in Southfield, one of the country's longest-running coffee houses dating back to the 1960s. The fun-filled event was underwritten by the Sidney Katzman Memorial Purim Fund.
