Young people in our community are set on putting their Jewish principles
into practice. Regional BBYO presidents, Marisa Horn and Josh Lowenthal,
both of West Bloomfield, have assembled a committee of leaders from nearly
every Jewish-based youth group in our area — from the Reform NFTY to the
Conservative ATID to the Orthodox NCSY. Though still in the early plan-
ning stages, their ultimate goal is a March event for Haiti relief and aware-
ness that encompasses Jewish teens in
Detroit from all backgrounds.
