David and Cathy Cantor of West Bloomfield are thrilled to announce the engagement of their daughter Lauren Elizabeth to Benjamin Aaron, son of Nissan and Candy Bar-Lev of Milwaukee, Wis. Lauren graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in biopsychology and Spanish. She received her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and is finishing her pediatrics residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. She will begin private practice pediatrics in Columbus, Ohio, in the summer of 2010. Benjy graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a degree in English and education. He was ordained as a rabbi from Hebrew Union College- Jewish Institute of Religion in 2008. He is a rabbi and the director of education at Temple Beth Shalom in Columbus. A May wedding is planned at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield. Fleischman-Ellman E lyse Fleischman and Jeff Ellman were recently married at the Ritz- Carlton in Dearborn. The bride is the daughter of Denise and Jeff Fleischman of West Bloomfield. The groom is the son of Peggy and Harry Ellman of Bloomfield Hills. Rabbi Joseph H. Krakoff of Congregation Shaarey Zedek of Oakland County Rabbi Harold Loss and Cantor Neil Michaels, both of Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, officiated. Amanda and Nikki Fleischman, sisters of the bride, were maids of honor. Erica Izraeli, sister of the groom, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Erica Colburn, Jenifer Colburn, Jenna Guntmacher, Rachel Klein, Danielle Weisfeld and Elizabeth Miller. Patrick Lowman, lifelong friend, was the best man. Groomsmen were Tal Izraeli, brother-in-law of the groom, Michael Krasman, Michael Redisch, Bradley Steel, Mark Valente and David Bragman. Zach Izraeli, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer and Stella and Kinsley Lowman were flower girls. Elyse and Jeff were honored to have their grandparents Ethel and Ben Siegal, Sharon and Marvin Fleischman, Donald Barris and Irving Ellman in attendance. The couple honeymooned in Hawaii and reside in Chicago.
