several skits and called up Dr. Elford and
his good friend, Syd Weinberg, to partici-
pate, which was a highlight.
At the end of the performance, Alan
Fox of the Generation Gap presented
Dr. Elford with a framed picture of the
troupe along with a shirt with their
name on it. Dr. Elford did not remem-
ber the last time he laughed that hard.
His family was delighted to see so
many residents attending.

Ella Baker
Her dream took place on Jan. 20.
Ella, 86, a resident at the Park at
Trowbridge in Southfield, was granted
her dream of a behind-the-scenes tour
of the PBS/ Detroit Public Television
studio in Wixom.
DreamCatcher Leah Bisel found that
when visiting Ella, PBS continually
came up in conversation. Ella rarely
watches TV, yet follows PBS very closely.

Students are required to complete
an application, an essay titled "What
the State of Israel and Zionism Means

another DreamCatcher, Al Wilson, was
put in touch with the local PBS station
in Wixom. Ella's wish was granted by
Daniel Alpert, chief operating officer and
station manager for DPTV.
Ella was very knowledgeable and
curious about all aspects of the tour,
often interjecting as Daniel Alpert
explained things. Daniel joked that per-
haps Ella would like to work for them!
Also on tour with Ella was Leah
Bisel, DreamWeavers co-chair Jill
Margolick and Lindsay Dembs of the
DreamWeavers steering committee,
who, with her sister Ashley Oleshansky,
is writing a book about all the dreams
that DreamWeavers is granting.
Daniel Alpert presented Ella with a
gift from Detroit Public Television. Ella
was delighted with her afternoon, say-
ing that it was beyond her expectations.
