ADLER, 84, of Boca
Raton, Fla., died Feb. 1,
2010.
She is survived by

years, Nathan Adler;

Sokolowski of Bloomfield Hills; sister and
brother-in-law, Flodell and Ossie Mersel;
grandchildren, Scott Haber; Daniel's chil-
dren, Daniel and Amy Sokolowski, Jeffrey
and Kelly Sokolowski, Timothy and Lisa
Sokolowski, Amy and Richard DeMyers;
and all of their respective families.
Mrs. Adler was the loving mother of the
late Val Mauro.
Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.

SARAH BELL, 89, of Oak Park, died Feb.
6, 2010.
She had a master's degree in library
science from Wayne State University and
a bachelor's degree in sociology. For 25
years, she was a librarian at Midrasha
College of Jewish Studies, formerly United
Hebrew Schools. She was a board mem-
ber of the Jewish Genealogical Society
of Michigan, a member of the Michigan
Jewish Historical Society, a past presi-
dent of the Jewish Library Association of
Metropolitan Detroit and a member of
Congregation Beth Shalom.
Mrs. Bell is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Sanford and Karen Bell
of New York; daughter, Linda Bell of
Oak Park; grandchildren, Catherine Bell,
Jonathan and Julie Bell.
She was the beloved wife of the late Max
Bell; loving sister of the late Samuel Bolker
and the late Belle Fruitman.
Interment at Beth Tefilo Emanuel
Cemetery. Contributions may be made to

ELMINA PASTOR
BROOKS, 82, for-
merly of Michigan and
Connecticut, died Jan.
28, 2010, in California.
Charismatic, charm-
ing and creative, she left
her career in radio and

ily and be a volunteer.
She spent many years
with Hadassah, even becoming a chapter
president. Mrs. Brooks was the youngest
child of Mary and Benjamin Brooks. Her
brother, Elihu, lives in Michigan.
Her former husband, Wilbert Roberts,
passed away in 2005.
They are survived by their children,
Nelson Roberts of Florida, Pamela
(Roberts Raitt) and Tony Goelz of
Michigan, Rachel (Roberts) and Dr. Ken
Elman of California; grandchildren,
Parker and Chandler Roberts, Brandon
Raitt, Lizabeth and Naomi Elman.
DR. LEWIS COHEN,
91, of Southfield, died
Feb. 4, 2010.
He was a psychiatrist,
specializing in physical
medicine.
Dr. Cohen is sur-
vived
by his wife, Betty
Cohen
Cohen; grandchildren,
Caitlin Klein and Joseph Malcoun and
Julia Klein.
He was the cherished father of the late
Judith Lynn Cohen; the dear brother of
the late Dr. Benjamin Cohen and the late
Lil Abramson.

JEAN CUTLER, 76, of Novi, died Feb. 4,
2010.
She was an insurance underwriter, who
retired 10 years ago.
Mrs. Cutler is survived by her husband,

Livonia; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan
and Tim McAllister of Maryland, Shari
and Larry Friedman of Portage, Mich.;
grandchildren, Shawn and Shaynna
Dubrinsky, David and Daniel Dubrinsky,
Tara Bellofatto, Alyssa Bellofatto, Miranda
Markart, Ben and Sam Foley; brother and
sister-in-law, Dr. Irving and Jane Berent;
also survived by her husband Robert's
children, Ardith Cutler, Jodi Lyn and Kip
Foley.
Mrs. Cutler was the dear mother-in-law
of the late Andrea Dubrinsky.
