The community is invited to learn

"No Place Like Horne a panel of
experts, will meet 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb.
14, at the Janice Charach Gallery in
the Jewish Community Center in West
Bloomfield. The event is sponsored
by B'nai B'rith's Center for Senior
Services, Zager-Stone-Tucker-Grant-
Oakland Century Unit, the JCC and
Credit Union ONE.
Jayme Levy, B'nai B'rith
International's assistant director of
advocacy and programming, will
moderate the panel that will include
Joshua Locke, Midwest regional
manager of AAA Critical Signal
Technologies; Rozanne Sedler, a geri-
atric social worker with Jewish Family
Service; plus a certified financial
planner from Credit Union ONE.

The Henry & Delia Meyers Library

Hockey For Hope
On Feb. 13, the West Bloomfield High
School Lakers boys hockey team will
wear pink jerseys to honor two breast
cancer survivors: WBHS teacher Mary
Ann Fortunate and Laker hockey
mom Daphne Murphy.
It's part of the second annual
Hockey for Hope, a fundraiser for
Sisters Hope, a nonprofit organization
enhancing the lives of breast cancer
survivors through the HOPE retreat.
Proceeds from game admission fees,
a silent auction and raffle will raise
funds.
Coach Jeff Lupu said, "The team
was so proud to help raise $3,000 last
year and they want to raise even more
this year"
During a ceremony at the game, last
year's honoree, Mary Anne Fortunate,
will pass the puck to this year's hon-
oree, Daphne Murphy.
The second annual Hockey for Hope
game will be held 7:30 p.m., Saturday,
Feb. 13, at Orchard Lake St. Mary's
Ice Arena, 3535 Indian Trail, Orchard
Lake. After the game, there will be
open skating. Skate rental: $2

Triathlon Clinics
Triathlete Eva Solomon will host tri-
athlon clinics to help beginners learn
about the sport and to help experi-
enced triathletes with their training.
Solomon has competed in triath-
lons, duathlons and running races
since 1987, keeping a balance between
family, work and a healthy lifestyle.
This past summer, she competed in
the 2010 Maccabiah Games in Israel
and brought home a silver medal.
Her business partner, Karen
McKeachie, is a six-time winner of the
Dexter-Ann Arbor Run, including the
first in 1974. She is a five-time gold
medalist of the world triathlon cham-
pionships and a nine-time finisher of
the Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii.
They are the founders of Epic
Races, a multipsport production com-
pany that promotes fit and healthy
lifestyles through multi-sport events.

Speaker On Mideast
The Zionist Organization of America-
Michigan Region will host Alex Safian,
associate director and research direc-
tor at CAMERA. The event will be
7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at Adat
Shalom Synagogue, Farmington Hills.
