DR. DAVID L. POUSHTER, 85, died Jan.
18, 2010.
He graduated Syracuse University
Medical School in 1947. He then served as
a captain in the United States Air Force.
He practiced as an ear, nose and throat
doctor in Syracuse; he was chief of staff at
Crouse Irving Memorial and Community
General Hospitals, president of Onondaga
County Medical Society, president of the
Triological Society and clinical professor
at Upstate Medical Center.
He was a president of Temple Adath
Yeshurun and vice president of Syracuse
Jewish Federation. He received the Esther
and Joseph Roth Jewish Community
Leadership Award and the Israel Bonds
Maimonides Award.
Dr. Poushter is survived by daughters

and sons-in-law: Linda and Dr. Larry
Lublin of Bloomfield, Mich., Susan and
David Rothenberg and Karen and Tom
Kinneman and their families; grandchil-
dren, Stacy and Jonathan Brand, Jeremy
and Julie.
He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis
this past June.

HELEN RADIN, 92, of
West Bloomfield, died
Jan. 20, 2010.
She is survived by her

late Joseph M. Radin and the late Walter

mother-in-law of the late Lou Bressler.
Interment at the Hebrew Memorial Park
Cemetery in Mt. Clemens. Contributions
may be made to the Crohn's & Colitis

BERTHA RUBIN, 85, of Mt. Clemens,
died Jan.17, 2010.
She was an active supporter and leader
in Beth Tephilath Moses Synagogue in
Mt. Clemens and its sisterhood, ORT,
St. Joseph Hospital, Macomb Auxiliary,
Mt. Clemens Art Center, Mt. Clemens
Historical Society and was an avid mah
jongg player.
Mrs. Rubin is survived by her husband,
Martin Rubin; sons and daughter-in-law,
Peter Rubin of Chesterfield, Michael and
Lori Rubin of Denver, Colo.; daughters and
sons-in-law, Dr. Linda and Sid Blackman
of West Bloomfield, Betsy and David
Madorsky of Bloomfield Hills, Valerie and
Tim Francis of Fairfax Station, Va.; brother
and sister-in-law, Leonard and Dolores
Matz of Bonita Springs, Fla.; brother-in-
law and sister-in-law, Shirley and Larry
Goldberg; grandchildren, Jordan and

18, 2010.
He is survived by his son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Michael and Ruth Sacks of Mt.
Lebanon, Pa.; daughters and son-in-law,
Lynn and Milt Klein of Sewickley, Pa.,
Fran Sacks of Novi; sisters and brother-
in-law, Natalie and Iry Baker of West
Bloomfield, Dorothy Ellis of California;

grandchildren, Dan, Josh, Liz, Jacob, Adam,
Rachel.
Mr. Sacks was the beloved husband of
the late Flora Sacks; loving father of the
late Denis Cook.

HARVEY PAUL
SCHWARTZBERG, 68,
of West Bloomfield, died
Jan. 18, 2010.
He graduated from
Wayne State University
with an accounting
degree and later was in
Schwartzberq
the scrap-metal busi-
ness. He served as president of the Greater
Detroit Scrap Trade Association for many
years.
Mr. Schwartzberg is survived by his
beloved and devoted wife of 45 years,
Arlene; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy
Schwartzberg and Steve Ehrmann of
Chicago, Ill.; son and daughter-in-law,
Dr. Eric and Lara Schwartzberg of
Birmingham; brother and sister-in-
law, Leslie and Dr. Barb Schwartzberg
of Evergreen, Colo.; aunt, Mamie
Schwartzberg of Lauderhill, Fla.; many
loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear
friends.
He was the dear son of the late Florence
and the late George Schwartzberg.

RICHARD A. SEID, 76, of Ann Arbor,
died Jan. 19, 2010.
He graduated from New York
University's Law School in 1959. Mr. Seid
was a practicing attorney in private prac-
tice until he became a senior attorney for
the Office of Equal Opportunity with the
Boston Legal Assistance Project, 1968-
1970. From 1970-1072, Mr. Seid was a
senior attorney for the Community Action
for Legal Services (CALS) in New York
City, the largest legal services organization
of its kind in the country. From 1972-
2006, he was a professor at the University
of Detroit Law School, where he taught
constitutional law, civil procedure, fed-
eral juris prudence and family law. From
1976-1979, Mr. Seid was the dean of the
University of Detroit Law School. In 1978,
he was appointed the director of Michigan
Legislative Commission on the Courts. He
was also a past president of Beth Israel
Congregation in Ann Arbor.
Mr. Seid is survived by his daughter
