Barbara and Ed Klarman made

regular IRA contributions over the
years, and had reached the point
where it was possible for them to give
away some of the proceeds to charity
without penalty. Then, family friend
and current Hebrew Free Loan Vice
President, Jay Must, suggested HFL
as a recipient of their generosity.
"The timing was right, and the
purpose and function of HFL is first
class," said Barbara. "When you give to
a cause for a certain purpose, you may
not consciously think about it, but you
do assume the donation gets 'used up'
for that purpose. Here, the same dollars
will be there for a long time."
"I'm glad we gave to Hebew Free
Loan," said Ed. "If you give some-
body a lift up, and they're in the
position to pay back, it's the best
form of charity — and then it's not
charity, it's an investment in people."

If you are subject to IRA
Required Minimum Distribution
rules at age 70 1 , there may be
tax advantages to donating to
Hebrew Free Loan.

Hebrew Free Loan provides interest-
free loans for living expenses,
medical fees and many other
needs: small business start up
c osts, tuition assistance, summer
camp, training, and much more if
you or someone you know needs
help, please click or call.
