ETHEL STEINMAN, 97, of Bloomfield
Hills, died Jan. 7, 2010.
She attended Northern High School
and Wayne State University and was a
longtime assistant to Benjamin Pelham,
Detroit politician and newspaper pub-
lisher. She was also a former regional
manager for Greater Detroit Chapter-
Hadassah, transcriber for Braille/
Michigan, member of the Heart Core
of friends for over 80 years and a co-
founder with her husband, David, of the
Sol Needleman Foundation.
Mrs. Steinman is survived by her sons
and daughters-in-law, Howard Steinman
and Barbara Birshtein of New York, Ken
and Fran Steinman of Birmingham;
grandchildren, Rachel, Susan, Joshua and
Amy Steinman; brother, violist, David
Schwartz.
She was the beloved wife of the late
David Steinman, founder of Walker
International; loving sister of the late
Lillian Schwartz Gold and the late
Rosalee Scott.
Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.

91, of West Bloomfield,
died Jan. 12, 2010.
She was the winner of

presented by the Public
Schools of Buffalo, N.Y.,
for scholastic achieve-

She is survived by her sons and
daughters-in-law, Wayne Weintraub and
Teri Fogelman, Dr. Bruce and Maureen
Weintraub; grandchildren, Michael, Carly,
David, Anne and Niall; great-grandchil-
dren, Dillon and Cailin; sisters-in-law,
Edna Norman and Ruth Norman.
Mrs. Weintraub was the beloved wife
of the late Emanuel "Manny" Weintraub;
sister of the late Philip Norman, the late
Will Norman, the late Dr. Nate (the late
Jeanette) Norman.
