opens its eyes to the growing anti-Israel
position of the Obama administration.
Just the other day, for-
mer senator George
Mitchell, President
Obama's envoy to the
Middle East, issued a
veiled threat that the
U.S. could hold up aid
and loan guarantees
to Israel as leverage
President
if it didn't restart
Obama
peace talks with the
Palestinians.
There is a lack of real pressure on the
intransigent Palestinians to stop their
incessant rocket and mortar barrag-
es into Israel and begin peace talks.
These are just a few examples of the
administration's policies in the Middle
East. Many more are there — just look.
Reluctance to stand up to the outra-
geous regime in Iran is an undeniable
fact as are the other instances of kow-
towing to tyrannical Arab heads-of-
state and their interests.

A Worthy School
I was pleased to see the excellent article
"Optimism In Israel" (Jan. 7, page 19)
about the Hand in Hand Center for
Jewish-Arab Education in Israel. The
school system educates almost 1,000
Arab and Jewish children together in
four different cities.
This nonprofit organization is very
worthy of support!
I have visited the school in Jerusalem,
supported it financially and read very
favorable independent evaluations of
their schools by the Ford Foundation
and others.
The two founders provided me with
updated facts last month before they
spoke in Ann Arbor. Further informa-
tion can be secured from the Web site,
www.handinhandk12.org .
