It's amazing how the power of song can bring peo- ple back to their roots and help them see clearly the direction they need to take in their lives. They all committed to something — no drugs, or keeping Shabbat, or getting back in touch with their families. Hearing their commit- ments after the concert made me real- ize that it is my calling, my shlichut, to travel the world sharing my songs with people who want to hear them and sing along. Another beautiful memory is of a Shabbaton for 350 divorced or wid- owed mothers — to encourage and strengthen them as they raise their children alone. Saturday night I put on a concert for them. I usually perform 1 to 1 1/2 hours. We went on for four solid hours, singing and dancing until we just couldn't anymore!
