League for Conservative Judaism
and by the Beth Shalom Sisterhood.

is no charge. During a dessert
reception following the talk, Anton,
who studies Talmud and medieval
history in Glendale, Calif., will sign
her books, which will be available

and Brother Daniel;""Governing a
Nation of Prime Ministers: Israeli
Politics in Crisis;""Proteksiya and Its
Discontents: Are Some Israelis More
Equal than Others?;" The Settler
Movement Sacrificing the Present
on the Altar of the Messianic Age;"
"Russian Jews and the New Secular
Culture;""Israelis and American
Jews —Do We Speak the Same
Language?"
Lupovitch is the 2009 winner
of the Benard L. Maas Prize for
Achievement in Jewish Culture and
Continuity in the Area of Humanities.
The class will meet Tuesdays from
7-8:30 p.m. at Congregation Beth
