On a recent trip to Yad Ezra, the kosher
food pantry in Berkley, the Lester chil-
dren brought 13 dozen eggs laid by their
chickens to be distributed among the food
pantry's client families.
Yad Ezra provides free kosher groceries
and other necessities to low-income fami-
lies in Southeastern Michigan. The pantry
assists more than 1,600 families a month.

their family farm bound for Yad Ezra.

Lesters' Farm Aids Yad Ezra
Yad Ezra board member Nicole Lester, her
husband, Matt, and their two children,
Elliah, 6, and Asa, 3, support the food pan-
try in many ways, including donating fresh
eggs from their farm outside Charlevoix.
The Lester Family Farm is a 200-acre
lifestyle farm. The Bloomfield Hills family
spends time there with extended fam-
ily and friends outdoors learning about
nature. They raise chickens, goats and
sheep. They grow sunflowers, potatoes and
corn in large quantities as well as other
vegetables in their gardens. Everything
is organically grown in partnership with
other local farmers.

Aiding Student Loans, Grants

term as vice-chair of the Michigan Higher
Education Assistance
Authority and the

Education Student Loan
Authority.
This is the highest
position a person can
be elected to within the

approve almost all state and some federal
programs and bond issues for higher edu-
cation student loans and grants.

• Why is it that when a person tells you
that there are over a million stars in the
universe, you believe him; but if someone
tells you there is wet paint somewhere,
you have to touch it to make sure?
• Why do people who know the least,
