VANESSA HIDARY

ctress, writer and director
r1 Vanessa Hidary, aka The He-
brew Mamita, grew up on Manhat-
tan's culturally diverse Upper
West Side. Her experiences as a
Sephardic Jew with close friends
from different ethnic and reli-

show that chronicles Vanessa's
coming of age during the golden
age of Hip-Hop. She is dedicated
to fostering understanding and
friendship between all people.
She has appeared three times on HBO's "Rus-
sell Simmon's Def Poetry Jam" and is featured in the
award-winning film "The Tribe." Vanessa has been
featured in numerous publications. She has recently
begun conducting poetry and racism workshops
with the B'nai B'rith Youth Organization, and is cur-
rently working with Birthright Israel.
