Obituaries
ROBERTA "BOBBI" GORELICK, 67,
of Waterford, died Nov. 27, 2009.
She was a volunteer for the
Multiple Sclerosis Society
She is survived by her husband
of 40 years, Burton Gorelick; son,
Damon Gorelick of Troy; daughter
and son-in-law, Dayna and Patrick
Begien of White Lake; grandchil-
dren, Nicklaus, Tabitha and Lauren
Begien; brother-in-law, Stuart
Gorelick; sister-in-law, Lynnda
Gorelick; aunt, Emily Camin of
Kansas.
Mrs. Gorelick was the beloved
daughter of the late Marilyn and the
late David Ross.
A private memorial tribute was
held on Nov. 29, 2009. Contributions
may be made to a charity of one's
choice. This announcement was
placed at the request of the family
by Ira Kaufman Chapel.
MILTON M.
HOWARD, 97, of
Bloomfield Hills,
died Dec. 3, 2009.
He graduated
from the University
of Michigan in 1934
with a bachelor's
Howard
degree and was
a graduate of the
University of Michigan Law School
in 1937. Mr. Howard was an attorney
and real estate developer (Howard
Brothers Realty) with his twin
brother, Arthur Howard. Howard
Brothers Realty built apartments
and hotels and created much of the
skyline in the city of Detroit. They
developed North Park Towers in
Southfield and were responsible for
much of the development in the city
of Oak Park. At one time, Howard
Brothers was one of the largest hotel
developers in the United States.
Mr. Howard served in World War
II, where he was with the Military
Intelligence Department, work-
ing with the Secret Service and
Counter Intelligence. He investi-
gated fatal plane crashes, atomic
bomb matters involving the top
scientists in attempts to achieve
controlled A-Bomb explosives. He
also worked with Russian authori-
ties in Fairbanks, Alaska, where the
U.S. was providing Russia bombers
and fighter planes to fly back to the
Russian-German front.
Mr. Howard was a longtime
member of Temple Beth El and a
graduate of the confirmation class
of 1926. He was a past president
of the Standard Club in 1969-1970
and was, at the age of 97, the oldest
member of Franklin Hills Country
Club. Mr. Milton and his brother co-
chaired the annual campaign for the
Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit.
He is survived by his wife of 41
years, Raquel Howard; son and
daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Howard and
Sue Ann Canvasser; granddaughter,
Katie Howard; niece and nephews,
Michele Williams, Suzanne Howard,
Robert Howard, Harvey Howard;
other nieces, nephews, cousins,
grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mr. Howard was the beloved twin
brother of the late Arthur Howard;
the dear uncle of the late James A.
"Jim" Williams.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to a charity of one's choice.

SAMUEL HURWITZ, 88, of Royal
Oak, died Nov. 30, 2009.
He is survived by his daughter
and son-in-law, Barbara and Kevin
Hyde of Royal Oak; grandchildren,
Maureen and fiance David Will, Lisa
and fiance Michael Pinkos.
Mr. Hurwitz was the beloved hus-
band of the late Sarah Hurwitz.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Services and
interment at Hebrew Memorial Park.

MARJORIE
JOSPEY, 92, of
Franklin, died Dec.
6, 2009.
She earned her
bachelor's degree in
I
English literature
from the University
Jospey
of Chicago. She was
a major supporter of the Detroit
Institute of Arts, where she has co-
chaired several projects. Mrs. Jospey
was also a vice chair of the Friends
of Modern Art, a board member of
the Detroit Symphony and a trustee
of the Michigan Opera Theatre. Most
of Mrs. Jospey's activities involve the
DIA and she was the co-chair three
times of the museum's major fund
raising event, the Under the Stars
ball.
Mrs. Jospey swam almost every
day and enjoyed anything to do with
