the engagement of their daugh-
ter Paula to Josh Sklar, son of Beth and
Robert Sklar of Farmington Hills.
Paula has a bachelor's degree in speech
and hearing science from the University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a mas-
ter's degree in speech-language pathology
from Northwestern University in Evanston.
She is a speech pathologist in Glencoe, Ill.,
School District #35.
Josh has a bachelor of arts degree in mar-
keting from Western Michigan University in
Kalamazoo. He works for United Technologies in Chicago.
The couple met at the Matzo Ball held in Boca Raton, Fla., on Dec. 24, 2003.
A November 2010 wedding in Chicago is planned.

renewed their wedding vows
on their 50th wedding anniversary. They
were married June 9, 1959, at Congregation
Sharrey Zedek in Detroit. The renewal cer-
emony was held in the garden at their home
in Poulsbo. In attendance were all their chil-
dren and grandchildren: Amy (Glass) and
Frank Willmann and daughters Lindsay and
Halley; Karen Glass and daughter Cordelia;
Cynde (Glass) and Randy Marx and daugh-
ters Rachel, Hannah and Sarah; Andrew and
Susan Glass and sons Samuel and Henry.

rthur Kort of Tampa, Fla., formerly
of Southfield, celebrated his 90th
birthday on Nov. 23. A brunch
will be given in his honor by his daughter,
Barbara Gordon, and his grandchildren,
Shellie and Mark Jelinek, Robert Rosen and
Bryan and Nina Gordon on Dec. 20. Joining
in the celebration will be his great-grand-
children, Aidan, Spencer and Cara Jelinek,
along with loving family members and close
friends.
