n Nov. 21, more than 325
Jewish teens from Metro
Detroit and representing
all area Jewish youth groups came
together for a White-out/black light
party at the Beverly Prentis Wagner
Teen Center at the Jewish Community
Center in West Bloomfield.
Aside from dancing to music,
the teens enjoyed video and arcade
games, giveaway photos, refreshments
and more — all under black lights.
Everyone wore something white, so the
effect was pretty amazing.

MJI Offers Dual Enrollment Classes
Dual enrollment allows students to get a jump on their college careers. High
school students who enroll in courses at the Michigan Jewish Institute (MJI) can
take a class not offered at their high school, such as classes exploring the historic
experiences of Jewish life, Holocaust studies and modern Hebrew language.
Taking a college-level course shows a student is motivated to learn and willing
to take on a rigorous academic schedule, thus enhancing the academic portfolio
in the college application process. Additionally, the MJI class may provide high
school and college credits. Tuition may be paid for by your school district.
MJI offers five classes targeted specifically to Jewish teenagers. To learn more
and register, contact dual enrollment advisor Itty Shemtov at (248) 255-2456 or
by e-mail at itty@theshul.net . Classes are held at The Shul in West Bloomfield on
Wednesdays and/or Thursdays (depending on class) from 6:40 p.m.-8:50 p.m.
