Shelley Littman.

As in past years, the event will
benefit an organization that assists
women. Guests brought gently used or
new children's books to be donated as
Chanukah gifts to NCJW Safe Place, a
temporary shelter for Jewish victims
of domestic abuse.

ewish music was the
theme of the eighth annu-
al Tri-Synagogue Women's
Night Out Nov. 17 at the Jewish
Community Center in Oak Park.
Musical talent came from women
from Congregation Beth Shalom of
Oak Park, Congregation T'Chiyah
of Oak Park, Temple Emanu-El of
Oak Park and Young Israel of Oak
Park — the four hosts of the eve-
ning that drew 100 participants.
The Tri-Synagogue Women's
Night Out evolved from the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit's
Neighborhood Project, which sought
to strengthen Jewish neighborhoods
in southeast Oakland County through
low-interest home improvement loans.
The goal of the annual event is to solid
ify social ties and recognize common
concerns of Jewish women in the area.
