racy Michelle Canavan, daughter
of Debra and Steven Harling of
Temple, N.H., and Julia Ryan-
Canavan and Dennis Canavan of Allegan,
Mich., is engaged to Seth Aaron Hitsky, son
of Deborah and Alan Hitsky of Southfield.
Tracy and Seth live in Chicago, where
Tracy is a manager at Kamehachi sushi res-
taurant and Seth is a musician and also
a fundraiser for the Jewish United Fund.
Tracy received her B.A. from Chester
College of New England in Chester, N.
H.. and Seth received his B.F.A. from the
University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Tracy and Seth will be married in May of 2010 on Block Island, RI.

and Carol Lowen are delight-
ed to announce the engagement of
their daughter Erin Lowen to Neil
Simmerman, son of Carol Simmerman and
Gerald Simmerman of Montreal, Canada.
Erin graduated from the University of
Michigan with a bachelor's degree in nursing.
She is working as an operating room nurse at
Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital.
Neil completed his undergraduate and
graduate degrees at McGill in Montreal after
which he moved to Israel, where he obtained
his medical degree. He is an ObGyn at
Wayne State University in Detroit.
Erin and Neil met in New York, where she was working as a nurse and he was
completing his residency.
A September 2010 wedding is planned in West Bloomfield.

arbie and Mark Edwards of
Sarasota, Fla., formerly from West
Bloomfield, proudly announce
the engagement of their daughter Shana
Subelsky to Rotem Shalom Tibi, son of
Tovah and Nissim Tibi of Lappidot, Israel.
Shana earned a B.A. in religion, philosophy
and peace studies from Prescott College in
Arizona and a master's of social work degree
from California State University East Bay.
She previously worked as a social worker for
Contra Costa County Children and Family
Services in the San Francisco Bay area.
Rotem, born and raised in a small north-
ern Israeli moshav, served in the Israeli
navy, then moved to the United States. He is a business owner in the locksmith
and security industry.
Rotem and Shana live in Oakland, Calif They plan to relocate to northern
Israel following their June wedding in Nahariya, Israel.
