Pe

t was a crisp fall night at the Lazy J Ranch — perfect weather for a
down-home hoedown, hayride and bonfire. More than 20 couples
dressed in jeans, plaid shirts and cowboy hats moseyed on down to
Milford Nov. 7 for a night of fun sponsored by the couples committee of
the Young Adult Division of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.
The Lazy J Ranch boasts an old-fashioned atmosphere; the group gathered
at the two-story, turn-of-the-century barn for pizza, snacks, drinks and
square dancing.
"I've never square danced before Todd Kroll of Birmingham admitted.
He attended the event with his wife, Jennifer.
"Their professional caller was great; he got everybody up and involved:'

Kroll said. "He was actually able to teach everyone there all the dance steps!'
Participants also hopped onboard tractor-drawn haywagons for a night-
time ride through the country fields. Afterward, there was more dancing, a
bonfire and s'mores.
"It was really a lot of fun," said Kroll. "The stars were shining and it was just
a great fall night"
Spotted in the hoedown crowd were: Jill and Craig Menuck, Shirley and
Lenny Cetner and liana and Zack Liss, all of Birmingham; Colleen and
Lowell Weiss and Alexis and Michael Schostak, all of Bloomfield Hills;
Stacie and Jason Ostrofsky and Elissa and Rabbi Jason Miller, all of
Farmington Hills; and Abby Reiss and Michael Carnow of Royal Oak.
