He felt his most meaningful mitzvah project was volunteering at Friendship Circle in West Bloomfield. Shayni Shecter, daughter of Kenny and Sandy Shecter, will celebrate her bat mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 21, during a morning service at the Shul and a Shecter Havdalah service at Congregation B'nai Moshe, both in West Bloomfield. She is the younger sister of Jacob and Mitchell and granddaughter of Joann Shecter and Shoshana Kestenberg and the late Ben Shecter and the late Henryk Kestenberg. Shayni is a seventh grader at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. She has been involved in many mitzvah projects and is looking forward to volunteer- ing with the West Bloomfield-based Friendship Circle this year.
