Top Workplace
JVS has been recognized as one
of the 2009 Detroit Free Press Top
Workplaces, based on a survey con-
ducted for the paper by Workplace
Dynamics of Exton, PA. The survey
drew responses from 32,363 employ-
ees at 173 employers throughout
southeast Michigan.
Each employee was asked to
rate his or her organization's per-
formance according to 23 distinct
statements. Companies then were
divided according to number of
employees.
"We truly appreciate the recogni-
tion from the creative and talented
JVS staff that dedicates every day
to helping others realize their life's
potential," said Barbara Nurenberg,
JVS president and CEO. "We believe
that by offering opportunities to
learn and grow, encouraging open
communications and expressing our
appreciation, we have developed a
nurturing environment that results
in job satisfaction and fulfillment."
JVS is an award-winning human
services organization that helps peo-
ple to improve their lives through
employment and productivity,
including people with developmen-
tal, emotional and physical disabili-
ties; breadwinners who need a job
or a career change; women who have
to suddenly return to the workforce;
